Do you remember summer camp? I do and it was fun!
Get ready for summer camp at Knit Picky. Our planning is almost complete. I wanted to give you a heads up on our ideas so far. Yarn Camp will run from Monday through Friday from 10am until 3pm. Ages 8-14 are invited to attend. Exact dates and cost to be determined in the next week.
Campers will have a morning session with a different focus each day: dyeing their own yarn, spinning unique fibers, wet felting and dry felting. We will take advantage of our wonderful side yard and shade tree! After lunch, the kids will take a crochet class, break for exercise, then a knitting class. Before you know it, the will have created a project using their individually dyed yarn. FUN!
Be thinking about kids you may know who would enjoy this camp. I want our Knit Picky customers to have first dibs on the spaces before advertising to the public.
Adventures in knitting and sewing. Oncology nurse by day with a passion to play in my yarn room and to share stories. Proprietor of the cutest little yarn shop, Knit Picky Yarns, from 2006-2012. (I may be a little biased) Six great years of yarn play. It was great fun meeting new friends & fellow knitters.

Customer Trunk Show
We have so many talented customers and we want to take advantage of all that talent and put it on display! This spring we are going to give you the opportunity to hang your favorite finished knit or crocheted item on our walls. In addition to being able to admire everyone's projects, we will also have several categories (Best Small Project, Best Large Project, Most Creative Use of Color, etc) that visitors to the shop can vote for. The rules are that the yarn should be from our shop and the pattern should either be from our shop or a free online pattern. If you have a question about whether we carry a certain book or pattern just give us a call or stop by. Start thinking about which of your projects you want to submit--we can't wait to see what you have made!!

Cascade 220
A new shipment from Cascade just arrived and you won't believe how many colors we have now. We have so many bright, beautiful colors which will be perfect for spring and summer projects. Plus, this wool yarn is ideal for felting which is so fun and popular. We have put together some kits for felted easter bags with this great yarn.
Blue Sky Alpaca
In February we got in a shipment from one of our new venders- Blue Sky Alpaca. Opening up the boxes reminded us of Christmas morning; Anne Marie and Laura could barely wait to stroke the soft, silky yarn and wonder at all the beautiful colors. The silk/alpaca blend is now one of Laura's top three yarns (sharing the glory with Debbie Bliss Cashmerino and Cascade Fixation) and she has started several projects using it. We are certain that you will love it too. From Blue Sky we also recieved soft, thick cotton yarn in an amazing assortment of colors. This yarn has quickly become a favorite for baby items and casual summer tops. Come in to the shop and let us show you our favorites!
