Today, we met Chris & Ann, visiting Knit Picky all the way from Auckland, New Zealand! Chris gave me a quick geography lesson after telling him my sis and her family recently moved to Sydney. He also told me about Rugby, how his country loves their coffee, and that most Kiwi's are water lovers. Meanwhile, Ann was having fun strolling around and finding yummy yarns to pet and squeeze throughout the shop. She ended up with some nice souvenirs from Knit Picky in Winston Salem, NC. Plus we learned that Ann not only loves knitting, she loves red yarn!
Ann, Chris, it was very nice meeting you! Maybe one day, we will visit your part of the world.

Adventures in knitting and sewing. Oncology nurse by day with a passion to play in my yarn room and to share stories. Proprietor of the cutest little yarn shop, Knit Picky Yarns, from 2006-2012. (I may be a little biased) Six great years of yarn play. It was great fun meeting new friends & fellow knitters.

Cute with only one ball!
Kim was the first Knit Picky girl to pounce on one of the Ragg Silk balls and created a cutie pie of a scarf! She calls this her Raggtime Scarf and has written up the pattern (free w/purchase of course)!
Kim's fun, spunky silk scarf
And you know I had to try it on, too!

Visit us @ Carolina Fiberfest!
Mark it down, make your plans, grab some girls (or guys) and plan a great day trip to Raleigh for the Got to be NC Carolina Fiberfest. Visit Knit Picky's booth, eat some fair food, sample the fabulous NC wines and talk to the animals. We had such great time last year and this year, it's even bigger. Did I mention the fair food?
And.....guess what??? We are very lucky to be sharing a double-booth with 2 amazing ladies....

Not One but Two Royal Kisses!
The Royal magic is exhilarating this morning!! It's only fitting that I re-post the Union Jack sweater knit by Sally Mir for her teenage daughter. Would love to see a picture of the finished sweater.
Best of British!
Best of British!
Perfect for summer and your pocket book!
We've revised our Fisherman's Net Wrap...longer, smaller gauge, slinkier. Now what can we call this version? Jane Thomas knit this eye catching wrap and looks great wearing it, doesn't she? Jane enjoyed knitting it so much she's already picked up 4 more skeins of Cascade Luna in a new shade for another one! Go Jane go!!

Marina
Our 'taste' of Marina yarn arrived last week. Looks fascinating, doesn't it? Found this great photo of a hand knit scarf by Quiltnut on Ravelry. With her permission, I'm sharing her fabulous scarf and eager to start one of my own. Reminds me of a coral reef, something so delicate and intricate and lightweight.
We got in two colorways; one is a soft blend of pinks, the other a racy blast of tropical color. How are you feeling today....soft and subtle or wild and racy?
Are you up for a contest??!! All posts will be entered into a drawing for a free skein....let's say from now until next Friday at 9am. One post per person please,..... ready, set, go!
